Giveaway: 2 tickets to see The Paper Scissors this Friday night!

Made590 customers are super lucky this week!! We have not one, not two, but THREE giveaways this week, I know wow! The first giveaway is something that we have wanted to be involved with for a very, very long time. We have worked with the super cool indie band The Paper Scissors and helped them out with their band merchandise.

A Made590 hate is when you go and see your favorite band and they have terrible merchandise, we get so disappointed because there is nothing better then getting a cool tee and nothing worse when you fav band churn out ugly images on HORRIBLE shaped tees!! So when the lovely Anne-louise Dadak, (the paper scissors inhouse graphic designer), asked us to supply our famous and loved  blindwear shape for women we just couldn’t say no. Al has designed AND printed the tees pictured below, how great is the print? she is one clever lady!

Our giveaway today is 1 free double pass to see The Paper Scissors live this Friday in Sydney. All you have to do is tell us: ‘the worst or best band merchandise you have ever seen’ post your response in the comment section, make sure you include your email address so we can contact you!

A winner will be randomly picked on Thursday 28 at 3pm. Good luck!

Made590 Loves: Shaun Tan

This week Annelouise share’s what she currently loves!

I have been loving Shaun Tan’s incredible illustration work for a while and have now decided to impose this love upon other people – particularly my fascination with The Arrival. I recently bought a copy of this book for my brother as a housewarming gift and although I suspect it is much more a projection of my own interests upon him- I am hoping he will be able to marvel at the thoughtfulness and skill that has gone into this stunning story. Shaun tan has masterfully created a beautiful and sometimes menacing symbolic world through his illustration, documenting one man’s story of immigration to a strange new land. What is truly amazing is that he does all this without words. Bloody impressive.

You can see more of his work at http://www.shauntan.net
