Made590 loves: KeepCup

This week Emma C shares what she love’s right now!

Us girls on the shop floor at Made590 love a good coffee to start the day and what better way to enjoy it than from our very own KeepCup?! Just like a takeaway coffee cup but a keeper, It looks good and it’s good for the environment – What’s not to love about that?! Designed and manufactured in Victoria, the KeepCup is sealable, recyclable, lightweight and unbreakable and comes in an assortment of colours that you can mix & match to suit you. I picked mine up from local yoga studio Samadhi Yoga for $15, but you can also purchase them online here.

Made590 Loves: Shaun Tan

This week Annelouise share’s what she currently loves!

I have been loving Shaun Tan’s incredible illustration work for a while and have now decided to impose this love upon other people – particularly my fascination with The Arrival. I recently bought a copy of this book for my brother as a housewarming gift and although I suspect it is much more a projection of my own interests upon him- I am hoping he will be able to marvel at the thoughtfulness and skill that has gone into this stunning story. Shaun tan has masterfully created a beautiful and sometimes menacing symbolic world through his illustration, documenting one man’s story of immigration to a strange new land. What is truly amazing is that he does all this without words. Bloody impressive.

You can see more of his work at http://www.shauntan.net

I’ve spent countless hours trauling through photos for inspiration and have found some really amazing people doing what they love.

Made590 loves: New York

This week Ingrid shares what she love’s right now!

I love New York – in particular the New York high line. Basically the high line was a disused railway line running from Chelsea – meat packing district up to 32nd I think. Was set up by a bunch of locals non profit who turned into a park! A must on the sightseeing list in New York.

Check it out here: http://www.thehighline.org/

Made590 loves: XYZ Blocks

This week Megan shares what she love’s right now!

I’m currently loving the illustrative style of Christian Northeast. Clever colours and type, with lots of graphic elements to keep everyone happy! He’s also just done a set of illustrated alphabet play blocks for Fred – surely I’d have learned my alphabet a whole lot earlier had I been in possession of such design treats as a little’n!! You can see Christian’s work here and the lovely playing blocks here.

Made590 loves: Pack Rack’s

This week Sarah shares what she love’s right now!

I came across these cute and hilarious jewellery hanger’s online called ‘Pack Rack’ by Brooklyn designer Steph Mantis. I think its a brillant idea and a neat way to store my clutter of necklaces! It would surely bring a smile to my face each day when I am choosing a new necklace to go with a daily outfit, my favourite would have to be the Elephant head.

Made590 loves: The Storybook Rabbit

We are introducing a new project for our blog, each week we will bring you Made590 Love’s in which each staff member will share something they currently love! At Made we all have creative projects and passions for design, craft, cooking, vintage, photography, styling and lots more so expect to hear more from us! To kick off this week Christina is sharing first what she love’s.

In the last few months Kelly from Made by White has started doing a something a little different and has started an Etsy store called The Storybook Rabbit. Filled with an amazing selection of products; from plates, to tiles to jewellery to cards and lots more.  All products feature Kelly’s fantastic illustrations which are hand drawn and have that childhood feel! I personally own a set of the tiles and a hand drawn plate. I am lusting after the jewellery and more plates but having children that rip the jewellery off my jackets and lack of space in my tiny house I am just having to resist, but you don’t! Check out Kelly’s Etsy store and also note that she is always adding new things that get snapped up really fast!
