Among Australian train enthusiasts, the heritage 3801 train is one of their absolute favourites. Built in 1943, the 38 class was both fast and powerful and revolutionised the express service. The distinctive streamlined design of the 38 class highlighted the romance of steam travel and were much loved until their retirement from regular service in 1962.
The 3801 train is the last to survive from this line and has been painstakingly restored since 2007. Last year 3801 returned to the rails and is now in heritage service for special trips. This tee pays tribute to the lovingly preserved history of steam travel in Australia and we hope you appreciate it as much as we do!
Our classic screen printed t-shirts are what started it all! They have always been one of our most popular items and Christina hand printed this range for close to 15 years. The designs we use are mid century themed, or inspired by everyones hobbies and interests, be it music, travel or the local area around us in the Inner West of Sydney. Our classic styles make the perfect gift for anyone who likes a comfy tee with a little bit of quirk! All our designs are done in-house, by the lovely Minnah or Kirbee with the ideas and drive the range coming from Christina.
We use As Colour tees, who’s products are produced under safe, fair, legal and humane working conditions throughout their supply chain.
The tees are a crew neck, regular fit tee that works on all body shapes. They are not too slim-fitting or loose, and they’re soft and comfy too due to the medium weight cotton used in their production! They’ve also been pre-shrunk to minimise shrinkage.
PLEASE NOTE: This tee was originally shown as a dark grey print on a pale blue base. During the printing process, this has changed to a black print on a pale blue base.
The sizing is standard, or order the size that you or your loved one wear normally.
We work with a local company, based a few streets from our shop in Marrickville who print digitally directly onto tees! This means we are able to produce small quantities of a varied size range, as well unlimited gorgeous colour and details.
