We are so happy to add a new cardigan shape to our line up this year. Mabel is perfectly designed with big sleeves in mind! She is a relaxed fit in the shoulder and arm to make sure you can layer any of those ruffles or puff sleeves you may own from our range like Romy dresses and tops, Daphne tops or Easy Edie dresses! She also has a perfect little collar and streamlined placket for a slightly vintage vibe.

FEATURES: This 100% mercerised merino wool cardigan is knitted locally by our very special knitter who we have worked with for over 10 years! Knitting locally is something we are passionate about and also allows us to pick and choose our own colours! We planned this range months ago and sent samples off to be dyed to our winter colour palette. The mercerisation of the merino cleverly means there will be minimal pilling and that the fibres will last longer and not get fuzzy after a few wears. We have also picked some of our favourite liberty fabrics for the covered buttons, with each cardigan having a perfect match chosen for it. And of course, we get all the buttons made locally in Sydney too! We look forward to wearing these every year when that cool snap hits, and we hope if you don't already have one you’ll add one to your wardrobe to understand our love and passion for these locally made knitwear pieces.

FEATURES:

Relaxed fit arm with a slightly dolman shape, this means there is extra room to not crush your exaggerated sleeves and to just keep you comfy all day long.

Cropped length similar to our Primrose cardigan

The ribbed waistband is designed to pull the bottom in slightly and make silhouette come in at your waist, perfect worn with any of our dresses!

Our signature textured knit which gives this cardigan a lovely warm look without too much bulk.

100% merino wool to keep you extra toasty!

Turn under front bind (this is a new style of finish we are so happy with!) which is streamline at the front so the knit pattern goes to the edge and reinforced at the back with merino knit binding

Collar is shaped out of knit rib for a perfect finish

Liberty Covered Buttons

HOW TO WEAR:

Pair Mabel with any of our dresses or layer her with an exaggerated sleeve underneath, she will remain comfy and warm without crushing everything you’re wearing underneath

Layer her with any higher waist items and the cropped length will pair perfectly!

Being a looser fit through the body and bust, this cardigan will feel softer than our other shapes and it’s perfect for days where you don’t want to wear a tight knit but still want to be warm and cosy

Mabel’s vintage style collar pairs well with structured items to soften the look of an outfit

Wear Mabel with your summer dresses with layers for warmth, and she can be belted over her waistband for extra oomf and a “put together” finish

COLOUR: Dark rich forest green. More of a blue undertone than previous greens, but the perfect dark green which works with so many prints and colours in our range. We have previously run this colour in a clementine many years ago and it was a top seller.

KNIT: Basket knit with a basket look and a looser weave than a lot of our knits. This knit has the most stretch compared to all other knits and we recommend this knit to anyone who wants a soft feel and a looser fit which is super comfy. Will feel immediately soft and loose when tried on and will not need time to give.

MODEL SIZES:

FABRIC: 100% mercerised Australian merino wool*, buttons are metal with 100% cotton covering. Buttons are covered in Liberty of London.

*Mercerised Merino wool means it is a high spun merino fibre which all the fuzzy strands have been shaved off to create a completely smooth fibre with a glossy feel. This makes the knits have a completely soft feel and they are highly resistant to pilling.

CARE: We recommend treating your cardigans as carefully as possible, to allow you to wear them for years to come. We wash ours only when really needed, as wool is a very breathable and resilient fibre. To wash place your cardigan in a delicates bag, wash only with mild wool wash detergent, on a delicates cycle. Alternatively a soft hand wool wash will keep your cardigan looking even better for longer. Never wring, rub or bleach your cardigan.

COLD WATER WASH ONLY. Reshape when wet and allow to dry laying flat in shade. Do not wash with anything that might rub or create pulls in the wool. If you do snag your cardigan on something, pull the thread gently to the inside of your cardigan and NEVER cut the threads, this will unravel the knit and create a hole. Wash at the end of the season (to avoid moth damage, they like to eat the dirty bits of wool!) and store your cardigan with cedar balls when not being worn, as moths find these 100% wool cardigans very tasty!

Please scroll to the bottom of the listing for our size chart, these are taken flat and unstretched. When reading our size chart please keep in mind that measurements are approximate only, as they are hand measured and the knit has a lot of give! Feel free to contact us directly if you'd like help finding your perfect size!

Please note that when you first put on your cardy this is the smallest it will be as the fibres have not yet relaxed. Your knit will soften and give over time so don't be afraid to stick with a size if it feels snug initially. We recommend you get a size if it will button smoothly over your chest. Wool will give at least 1-1.5cm so if the buttons gape ever so slightly at the bust this will end up a perfect fit once the cardigan is allowed to give through wearing.

Designed and Made in Sydney, Australia. We use local makers we have worked one on one with for many years. All knitwear is locally knitted by one of the last knitters in Australia!
