Penny Skirt Witchetty Hour
Presenting our newest recruit to our skirt range, Penny! She is a midi length skirt with cute tab and pleat details which details which make her a little mod, but also a lovely length for all year round wearing.
FEATURES: Penny is a new shape we have developed for our range of skirts that gives a nice a-line silhouette with cute detailed tab and pleat details. She is inspired by Christina’s Nonna’s silk shift dress which she handmade and wore in the 60’s. The pleat detail is such a sweet little feature and we love the tabs which are a little nod to 60’s detailing. This skirt will be your new favourite shape as it is streamline as well as being quite stand out in the prints we use. We love the cute pleat detail and the aline shape is also not too triangular which works on all figures. We love the length which is great in winter with boots but also works with flat shoes or sandals in summer. Penny is a great fit with darts at the back to shape the waist and pleat detail either side of the middle. We love this shape which has lovely panelling and has a nice waistband with tab details, this means it looks lovely with a tucked in top but also is smooth enough to wear with a looser top over the skirt. The waistline sits mid to higher waist, but the a-line allows this shape to sit a bit lower if you size up.
HOW TO WEAR: This skirt is a lovely cut paired with a fitted basic top, tucked in to give a dressy finish. She works well with our Primrose cardigans as the overall shape is a nice mid length and means it works for the cropped shape of the cardigan. We love her with a good pair of cute coloured tights, ankle boots and one of our belts would also work well threaded through the belt loops. We love the shape of this skirt which is quite different to any other of our skirts, being a longer length but without the fullness of Valentina, plus the pleat detail is a lovely feature unlike any of our other shapes. We love this beautiful skirt with many different styles from button up shirts for work, to a Penelope top or every day tee for weekend wear. Pair her with some fun stockings, boots and a jumper for a warm winter look with layers. We love this skirt with our Chelsea Capes, but she is also lovely worn with a simple top in summer. Take Penny for a spin, the pleats make it a great skirt for dancing and it has a nice amount of movement too.
FABRIC: Stretch drill heavy weight. 97% cotton 3% stretch. Like a pair of jeans this fabric will give with wear and come back to shape in the wash. We recommend a firm fit initially to ensure it does become too big with wear.
PRINT: Witchetty Hour by local artist Molly Coombs Marr.
SIZING: XS-XL Please note sizing on the Penny has come in bigger than our usual sizing. Because of this, we have added a size smaller this run, so our XXS is the equivalent of our normal XS.
Size down at least one size. Penny has a nice amount of room on the hips in all sizes, rather than being straight in the hips. We have sizes for her to be worn mid or high waisted with darts to bring in the back of the waistband so she wont gape.
Chris is wearing an XXS.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the large scale of this print, print placement will vary more than normal, so please be aware it will not look exactly like the one photographed. Each piece will be truly unique and you will get a variation of this print placement in each garment, and depending on the size you order it may vary even more. We love ALL of the garments in this fabric so we are sure you will love them too!
