This great little Piper Pinafore is a new style we have made for winter because we just LOVE a good layering piece around these parts. She is the perfect cut to show off our large scale prints and unlike her sister pinafores, she has a gathered skirt for room on the hips and feature side pockets.
FEATURES: This practical pinafore is a wonderful piece to wear going into winter, we love the detailed cut of this piece and the look of it with plain or printed layers. We will be wearing ours with stripy tops and cute printed blouses underneath. She is a simple and feminine cut with a gathered waist, a-line skirt and feature pockets. We love her rounded v neckline and lightly gathered natural waist. We love the rounded side pockets which add some fun to a simple shape which is great worn with fun accessories, but stands alone within your wardrobe. We have added several button holes and inner waist buttons to this shape at the back straps, which means you can adjust the strap length to be a perfect fit for you bust size and waist length. You can also cross the straps over and wear it in a different way. This style is so versatile and fits an array of shapes as it has a set-in waistline (so quite different to our Petra) and styles well with a belt, boots and winter layers.
HOW TO WEAR: We love this Piper Pinafore worn as-is with a light layer underneath for autumn and winter. She can also be worn as a dress in summer as you have coverage from the straps and the bodice cuts at a nice place to cover your bra. We love it layered with a small tee underneath for summer as well. For winter, pair your Piper with a scoop neck long sleeve top or a higher neck shape such as our scarlet skivvy or new Emily top. We love a stripe top under a bold print, or a plain version with one of our printed blouses like Evelyn or Emily. We love this pinafore with a bit of a pattern clash, or worn to work with colour blocked contrast colours. Try a pinafore with one of our famous Clementine cardigans for winter warmth and layer her up with scarves, brooches or even a belt to accessorise. The length hits at just above the knee on most heights and is slightly shorter on tall frames. This length works amazingly with boots in winter and we will be layering ours with our new leggings which are soft enough to wear under this piece for it to work well. The pockets are a nice depth for phones, keys and any other bits and pieces you might want to carry for the school run, to the corner shop or to the park.
